Re: The Paradox of God

I was raised a Southern Baptist and was taught that one must come to accept Christ as the Son of God and as one's savior in order to get to Heaven. Only the most irrational and unreasonable Christian would suggest we can do this without some sort of understanding of the nature of Christ and God. Yet Jeremy writes, "We cannot possibly hope to ever concieve of what God is and isn't. Our minds are too feeble."

So we are given an impossible task to complete in order to avoid an eternity in the depths of Hell. In other words, I cannot possibly understand God, but if I don't, I'm going to be punished forever. Such a system is ridiculous and does not exist, and for that reason God does not exist as defined by the Christian faith. And if such a system does exist, I want no part of it.
