Often the guys in jail sign up for the Christian services because they'll get shorter sentencing. They also know they can con naive Christian workers 'real easy' and get them to put in a good word for them. They also know that the Christians have a lot of live-in programs to assist them when they get out. However, once on the outside you never see them again, or they run off with your stereo, clothes, and anything else you might have around.

Okay, so there are a few exceptions but for the most part the guys in jail are just smart and can recognize an easy con.

I know this firsthand.

There is no reason why 'any' group should get preferential treatment.
