Reviewing the Revised 10 Guidelines

Two suggestions on the proposed revision.

I doubt whether the Guideline 2 actually needs to say 'Life is too short'. First of all, why? How would we measure that? More importantly, for some people life can be too long. I'd change that guideline to: "We can make our own lives meaningful. Make the best of it."

The second suggestion is to change Guideline 7 to read: "Honour all commitments you make." Why single out commitments to a spouse, however important?

These guidelines tend to become rather vague and general, once you write them up. However, that need not be a problem. Much important wisdom sounds terrifically simple.
