I would suggest:  Irreligion: A Mathematician Explains Why the Arguments for God Just Don't Add Up (Hardcover) by John Allen Paulos (Author).

PS - I'm trying to decide whether I want to buy it myself.  I have just started his book on a mathematician playing the stock market.

Response:

Paulos is a good author. I have his earlier book, Innumeracy: Mathematical Illiteracy and Its Consequences which I do recommend. However, buying more books is not in my current budget. (I've found half a dozen in my personal library so far this year which I've owned for years and never read - which is a sign I should stop buying until I get through those I already have) If someone wants to donate this particular book to me, I'll review it.

Preferably, I would welcome a review by anyone else who has read it.
