Restoring Serenity And Trust

Last Saturday, the Pope called a special meeting of his Cardinals to seek advice how to restore serenity and trust in the Catholic Church in light of the Vatican’s leaked documents scandal.

After weeks of pontificating upon how all Catholics, including Cardinals should respect his authoritah absolutely, Pope Cartman tried to get some advice on how to run things from those he'd told he was always right. As if any of them would dare point to his decisions or point to those corrupt elements he has chosen to surround him.

And what decision did the Pope make on Saturday after meeting with his Cardinals? He decided to hire a Fox News reporter as a PR flack - OK, PR flack is a little judgemental - as a senior communications adviser to shape the Vatican’s message and make sure all Vatican departments stick to it.

Shape the Vatican’s message and make sure all Vatican departments stick to it! It's still the same old, same old - Respect Pope Cartman's authoritah. And do absolutely nothing about the underlying causes of the scandals afflicting the Catholic Church.

That is not going to restore serenity and trust in the Catholic Church.
